The continuous transformation of the profile of our Board, staff and beneficiaries remains an item of priority.

House Andrew Murray Child and Youth Care Centre subscribes to the objectives of the Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) codes. As a small non-profit enterprise, its contributions in terms of employment equity, preferential procurement, socio-economic development and enterprise development are assessed annually by an independent verification agency.

Tax Benefits for Donors

House Andrew Murray Children's Home is a non-profit company and qualifies as a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO). This allows a tax benefit to House Andrew Murray donors. House Andrew Murray may issue a Section 18A receipt for bona fide donations, which allows for donors to claim up to 10% of taxable income.

DONATIONS THAT QUALIFY FOR TAX CERTIFICATES ARE

Financial contributions:
  • Cash
  • Cheque
  • Postal order
  • Direct deposit
  • EFT
  • Debit order
  • Credit card deduction
Donations in kind:

Any gift of goods to House Andrew Murray CYCC that causes a saving on the budget and can be taken into the books are income eg:

  • Non-perishable foods
  • Consumer goods
  • New clothes
  • New capital items (e.g. TV's, fridges, etc.)
  • Donations of necessary materials for maintenance work (e.g. paint, light fittings, etc.)
Second hand gifts:

Second hand goods do not usually qualify for a tax certificate. (There are exceptions to this rule e.g. the donations of a vehicle, where a market value can be determined).
